Refer the clients whose music licence nobody has checked.

Music Licence Consulting is an independent consultancy, not affiliated with PPL PRS Ltd, PPL or PRS for Music. We check TheMusicLicence bills against the published tariffs and help businesses get onto the correct tariff. If your clients open, buy, run or close premises that play music, we can help them, and pay you 15% of our fee for the introduction.

Accountant or bookkeeper? There’s a version of this page for you, with a client consent template for your referral-fee disclosure.

Where we fit into your work

Business brokers and agentsWhen a pub, café, salon or shop changes handsTheMusicLicence doesn’t automatically carry over to a new owner. The buyer normally needs their own licence and the account is re-assessed, which is the right moment to make sure it starts on the correct tariff.Buying or selling a business: the music licence →
Purchasing groups and cost consultantsDuring a cost reviewThe music licence is a fixed annual bill that most cost reviews never open. It’s built from published tariffs, so it can be checked line by line against the figures that should apply. The 2026 tariff tables →
Franchisors and multi-site operatorsWhen sites open, close, refit or change hoursEvery change to a site’s audible area, music use or opening status is a reason to update the declaration. Groups of four or more sites get a free initial review.Closing, selling or cutting back →

How a referral works

  1. 1Agree termsWe put a short written referral arrangement in place: 15% of the fee we receive for the client you introduce, and when it’s paid.
  2. 2Get your linkWe give you a short partner code. Links to musiclicenceconsulting.com with ?ref=your-code are credited to you for 90 days, so the client doesn’t need to mention you.
  3. 3Introduce the clientShare the link, forward their invoice with their permission, or put us in touch by email. Whatever suits you.
  4. 4We check it, they decideThe client gets the same published price whether they come through you or not. The referral fee comes out of our margin, never out of their result.

What your clients pay

  • 1 to 3 sites: a free Invoice Check with a written verdict in five working days, then Licence Watch from £99 a year if they want us to look after the licence for them.
  • Four or more sites: a free initial review, then 20% of any refund and of realised savings for 24 months, billed as they happen and agreed in writing before work starts.
  • A new licence: our Opening Package (from £199) sets it up and includes the first year of Licence Watch, so a new owner starts on the right tariff. Full details on the pricing page.
